Depending on its configuration and size, a modern boat may have an onboard plumbing system, livewell tanks, draining and sewage piping, and other equipment requiring the pressure of water for its operation. General purpose pumps are the very parts used to create the necessary pressure. Actually, this category of pumps is large enough and includes numerous electric, pulley-driven, and even manual models available in different designs. Many of them are offered in our online store. Each model features its own flow rate usually measured in gallons per minute, so you can choose the right product according to this value and other criteria.
For instance, a pulley-driven bilge pump can be powered by the vessel's inboard engine via the belt, while the electromagnetic clutch in the drive system allows you to activate such a pump only when necessary. An electric circulation pump can be a good alternative; featuring different voltage, such models may have an anti-clogging impeller and other improvements for trouble-free operation. Pay attention to the mounting type: there are pedestal, in-line, and portable models. As for material, most boat pumps are constructed from quality bronze or stainless steel providing high reliability and corrosion resistance.
