Widely used in marine sonar systems and various measuring equipment, most transducers use special cables for powering and transferring data to electronic modules. Depending on the make and model, these cables feature different types, lengths, and connectors, yet reputable transducer manufacturers constantly update the cables to improve their isolation and reduce noise. In the meantime, many boaters face the need to replace their old cables to connect the existing transducer to a brand-new sonar module, or vice versa. In some cases, an adapter cable is necessary to connect a pair of transducers to a single module, or when the number of pins in the transducer and electronic device is not the same.
For instance, you can connect a six-pin transducer to a newer sonar featuring 8 pins, or combine a transom-mount and in-hull transducer. Particularly, the latter can be used when the transom-mount transducer doesn't provide depth reading because of cavitation. If the route from the multifunctional display or other module is longer than the stock wiring, an extension cable might help. In our online store, you will find a wide range of marine transducer cables and adapters sourced from renowned brands such as Garmin, Raymarine, and Furuno.
