M85UL 5W RF Black Handheld Intrinsically Safe VHF Radio by Icom®. The M85 is the smallest, lightest and toughest radio on the market today! The M85 can withstand hazardous and inhospitable environments at sea and on land, as it is built to MIL-STD 810. The IP67 waterproof rating protects the radio, even if dropped in the water. Yacht and commercial customers like the M85 because of the 100 programmable land mobile channels, as well as the easy to use built-in voice scrambler for private communications. The M85 is full of the features you need including an automated emergency alarm.

Full Featured
The M85 user-friendly display includes icons and indicators like transmit power, VOX ON/OFF, battery status, scan, weather channel and more. These icons and indictors improve the user-experience and operation. The M85 also includes a continuous 20-position rotary selector and ON/OFF volume knob, which is tilted for easy access.

For emergency situations the M85 includes the MOB Alarm, Man Down and lone worker functions. If one of these functions is activated, the radio automatically makes an emergency alarm.

Land Mobile Use
In addition to VHF marine channels, the M85 covers 136–174MHz land mobile frequencies. Up to 100 programmable channels are available for land mobile use at 2W output power. Each channel is programmable with CTCSS and DTCS tone. Proper licensing is required to operate within the above land mobile frequencies.

Built to withstand the elements, the submersible M85UL intrinsically safe VHF handheld is perfect for commercial customers working in harsh environments. The M85UL plus the BP292UL, HM184UL all meet ANSI/TIA-4950-A, ANSI/UL 121201 requirements.

Warranty

Amateur Receivers

All amateur/receiver products except for the 7800 radio and the R9500 receiver have a one (1) year warranty from factory defects and workmanship including accessories (batteries, wall chargers, antennas). The 7800 and the R9500 both have a two (2) year warranty. Amateur accessories come with a one (1) year warranty.

Marine

All marine handhelds, CommandMics, and VHF fixed mounts come with a three (3) year waterproof warranty from factory defects and workmanship with a one (1 ) year warranty for accessories (battery, antenna). Single side-band radios and tuners have a two (2) year non-waterproof warranty.

Land Mobile

Land Mobile portable or mobile radios come with a standard two (2) or three (3) year warranty from factory defects and workmanship depending on the model. There is a one (1) year warranty on Icom America Systems products and all accessories.

Land mobile customers have the option to purchase extended warranties at the time of purchase and up to 60 days following their purchase for periods of one (1), two (2), or three (3) years. Extended warranty is just an extension of the radio’s normal warranty and doesn’t cover anything additional.

Avionics

All handheld radios have a three (3) year warranty from factory defects and workmansip with one (1) year for accessories (batteries, wall chargers, antennas). Panel mount radios have a two (2) year warranty with one (1) year for accessories.

Accessories

Accessories purchased independently of any other product have a one (1) year warranty from factory defects and workmanship.

The warranty period for all products begins from the original end-user’s purchase date. Warranties may be transferred but will not be extended past the original warranty period.
