Marine Fuel Sensors
A marine fuel gauge is used to show the level of hydrocarbons in the vessel's tank, and for its operation, this useful instrument relies on another device – a fuel level sender. Also known as a fuel sensor, this part is installed in the tank and connects with a float also located there. As the level of gas or diesel gradually moves down, so does the float, and electrical resistance in the sender changes respectively. The difference in resistance makes the gauge's needle move to one or another side. Besides, there are mechanical senders, however, most of them come integrated with the gauge mounted right on the tank.
There can be different designs of this system (the gauge and sender), and its accuracy may vary. But whichever setup is installed in your boat, its operation and accuracy also depend on quality. Naturally, you want all your gauges to work well when you’re out on the water, so if you're in need of a new sensor, choose the one made by a reputable company. A large assortment of such marine fuel sensors is available on our virtual shelves, along with gaskets, adapters, and various hardware.
