Boat Drain Systems

Among plumbing technicians, it's commonly known that a shower waste pump is necessary when there is no way to provide gravity waste. In a boat, a shower tray is typically located quite low, even lower than the waterline, so gray water can't go overboard by means of gravity. In order to remove it from the vessel, boaters use special shower drain systems pumping the water out of sinks and trays. Unlike commercial vessels, most recreational marine boats are not monitored for gray water discharge, which means that tanks for keeping it on board are not obligatory in most cases. But if you want to do something good for the environment, you can install a special filter in the line.

On our digital shelves, you will find an assortment of boat drain systems sourced from Rule Pumps, Attwood, and some other reputable brands. A modern shower drain kit may include a pump powered by DC 12 or 24 V, several inlet ports, removable strainer allowing for easy cleaning, float switch, check valve preventing backflow, and some other components. As for the float switch, it can activate the pump automatically when the water appears and turn it off when the reservoir gets empty.
