The market offers a broad choice of marine autopilot systems, starting with relatively simple removable tiller pilots and ending with powerful hydraulic setups interfacing with chartplotters and sonars and designed for integration into the vessel's steering system. If you plan to equip your boat with a new pilot that has several modules besides the drive mechanism, it makes sense to get a complete autopilot kit by one brand rather than mixing different models.
