When it comes to painting a boat and protecting its surface, the modern market offers numerous solutions developed using the latest achievements of modern chemistry. Some paint manufacturers divide solvents into two basic groups – thinners and reducers. The former are meant for lacquer-based coatings, while the latter are utilized with urethane-based paints. Anyway, for the best result, it makes sense to choose paints and solvents from the same brand and pay attention to their technical datasheets – many manufacturers specify there the series of paints the reducer or thinner has been formulated for, along with some precautions.
