Gelcoat is a polymer based on epoxy or polyester resin that gives most fiberglass boats their gorgeous high-gloss appearance. It also adds a layer of protection to the glass fabric underneath, shielding it from water and ultraviolet. Gelcoat requires maintenance to retain its luster and protective properties for a longer period of time: the surface of your boat needs to be regularly washed, polished, and waxed to prevent gelcoat from becoming porous prematurely. It is fairly easy to damage the gelcoat by hitting some obstacle, but fortunately, it’s possible to restore the finish of your vessel.

We carry boat gelcoats that will bring the shine back. On deeper chips and cracks, a filler should be used to make the surface as smooth as possible. As soon as the surface is flat and properly sanded, gelcoat can be applied using a spray gun. The products on offer will allow you to permanently repair nicks and scratches. You may add coloring agents to achieve the desired hue. While you’re at it, look over our selection of cleaners, antifouling paints, and other chemicals that you may need to maintain or restore your craft.
