Boat Shallow Water Anchors
If you fish shallow lakes or hunt shallow rivers for ducks, a dedicated shallow water anchor can be a great alternative to a conventional anchor. Also called an anchor pole or stick, it features a spike that drives into the bottom and literally pins your boat in place. As opposed to traditional anchors, these devices are lightweight, easy to store and carry, and deploy quietly, so there is less risk of disturbing fish or mallards. They provide a secure hold, and you don’t have to worry about the rope tangling around your prop, either.
Boat shallow water anchors come in manual, hydraulic, and electric types. Manual ones provide the simplest and least expensive way to park your boat. To prevent boat rotation with the wind or current, two poles are used: one mounted at the bow and one at the stern. Hydraulically- and electrically-operated anchors deploy and retract with the touch of a button on the included remote control. They allow you to adjust a digging depth, and advanced models do it automatically if they sense harsh conditions like rough waters or strong winds. With reputable brand names on offer such as Minn Kota, Panther, and Carver, we have your anchoring needs covered!
