A power pack is one of the main parts of the ignition system installed in an outboard engine, which is responsible for the right ignition timing. Able to accumulate electrical charge, this component supplies electricity to ignition coils that generate high-voltage impulses for creating a spark. In some engines, the power pack is also called the ignition module, and in most cases, it can be found in capacitor discharge ignition systems (CDI for short). Typically, such a module is a well-sealed, non-repairable assembly that has to be replaced when faulty.
