Dr. Shrink Wraps & Accessories

The unique properties of shrink film have been known for several decades, and these days, it's widely used in many fields. Dr.Shrink is a company that successfully adopted this technology for winterizing or transporting boats, RVs, ATVs, etc. Although wrapping seems to be simple, it has its own tricks. Film size and thickness, shrink temperature, the right tools – everything matters. Many years of experience allow Dr. Shrink Inc. to provide their customers with exactly what they need to get the best result.

There is a broad assortment of Dr.Shrink wrap films, heat tools, and related installation accessories. The films are available in different thickness options ranging from 3 to 12 mil, and their width can vary from 16 to 60 inches. They can be ordered in rolls or special kits for wrapping a boat, personal watercraft, or anything else. For instance, there is a kit for runabouts and pontoon boats up to 24′ which includes some Dr Shrink tapes, several kinds of film, end caps for support posts, 3/4” buckles, weather-tight self-adhesive vents, knife, ring cutter, and some other components.

To get the job done, you will also need a heat tool, which can be ordered individually. There is a lineup of Dr Shrink heat guns using propane and equipped with a regulator and back-up igniter. Available with a hose and several extensions, these guns are very effective and convenient to use. Of course, there are some precautions, as propane and shrink film itself are flammable. For large projects, a fire extinguisher has to always be at hand. For high objects, you will need a ladder so that the surface to be shrunk is visible. Besides, there are limitations regarding wind speed and some paints that a boat hull is coated with.
