Marine safety equipment includes lots of products such as life rafts, life jackets, food rations, signaling devices, gas analyzers, and so on, and most of them have to meet the specific requirements set by SOLAS or USCG. A reputable company that has been manufacturing this type of equipment for nearly fifty years, Datrex has considerable expertise in terms of safety and design. Although all of its products fully comply with all the necessary regulations, the company's broad experience in this field lets it develop improved designs whose characteristics exceed various federal and international standards that are actually taken as minimal requirements.
Datrex was founded in 1970 in Miami, and today, one of its numerous offices is still there. Production facilities and headquarters are located in Kinder, Louisiana where the company develops and manufactures literally everything needed for survival at sea. All of its products are divided into two large groups meant for commercial and recreational applications. The former is commonly oriented toward the use in offshore and international waters under USCG/SOLAS. Meanwhile, some products of the recreational group can also be utilized in open waters, for instance, the offshore models of Datrex life rafts.
Most of them can carry from 4 to 8 and from 4 to 12 people and are equipped with an easily accessible boarding ramp, ladder, handholds, exterior and interior LED lights, several water ballast bags, SOLAS reflective strips, and a special emergency pack that includes parachute rockets, flashlights, pump, paddles, etc. Also, the company offers a big variety of life vests.
