A bilge blower is not just part of USCG-obliged equipment but rather a crucial safety feature on your boat in the first place. Flammable gases tend to build up under the engine cover while your boat is sitting idle. Failure to vent them out before you start your boat may cause an explosion. A bilge blower is basically a fan that evacuates these dangerous fumes from the confined area of the engine compartment.
