Traditional Seat Varieties
We'll start with traditional single-occupant seats which are sometimes described as helm seats. Should you prefer to keep your purchase price low, we've got great values in basic seats without armrests, side bolsters, footrests, or other extra-cost features. Many of these seats have backs that fold flat. Use "with arm rests" and/or "with side support" checkboxes to browse through seats that are so equipped. Leaning Posts
Leaning posts are essentially taller, upright seats that give a boat captain the ability to steer and see all gauges while looking over the wheel at what's ahead. Leaning posts will feature a high-mounted seat cushion or padded bench rail to sit on or lean against, and most will include a seat back section which can be removed or folded out of the way.

On the back of the seat are 4 fishing pole holders - 2 of which can be used to install a detachable backrest section. "Horse" Seats
With no armrests or side bolsters of any kind, horse seats allow you to sit unencumbered at a convenient height and position for working a fishing pole or observing the water. Whichever way you use a horse seat, an easy hop-off is all that's required to get back on both feet.
Named for their saddle shape, horse seats we offer are designed to bolt right onto any boat seat pedestal/post. Choose Millennium's SW 300 Series Salt Water Palma Horse Boat Seat (6"h x 20"w x 12"d) or slightly larger B 300 Series Palma Horse Boat Seat (7"h x 21"w x 13"d) - both of which are rated to support 400 pounds.
Casting Seats
Like horse seats above, casting seats are purpose-built for fishing. Such seats feature a seat cushion that's wide at the rear for comfort and tapered at the front for easy climb-offs. Casting seats typically have a small rear support lip and no side bolsters.

Foot Rests
Sitting anywhere with your feet dangling above the floor quickly becomes uncomfortable, but on a boat it's much worse when the body is jostled randomly in all directions. When your body weight isn't properly supported in this way, gravity pulls the pelvis backward unnaturally and forces muscles in your lower back area to compensate in ways they weren't meant to - causing strain and pain. Additionally, dangling feet add pressure on legs and reduce circulation. Any passengers already suffering from circulatory issues such as thrombosis, swelling, or varicose veins are at increased risk of dangerous blood clots forming.
