Winter poses big dangers to boats. Frozen water expands and can ruin the engine, sanitation systems, etc. Spark plugs, wires, and other components can fall victim to corrosion. Fuel can degrade and lead to gum buildup that clogs the injectors. These are some of the consequences of not winterizing a boat properly. When the boating season is over and it's time to put your craft into hibernation, prep it for long-term storage with the boat winterizing supplies and fluids that we carry. This will prevent freeze damage saving you from expensive repairs when the spring rolls around.
Flush the engine with water and make sure it fully drains, as even small amounts of water may lead to serious damage when the mercury drops considerably. Pour in fresh oil before storing for the cold season, as old oil left in the motor can cause corrosion. Antifreeze is what will help prevent the engine block from cracking. Not only the motor, but also freshwater and sanitation systems and air conditioners need to be protected with antifreeze.
