Sea Catch Boat Toggle Releases & Safety Pins

The Sea Catch toggle release is an innovative product designed for the sole purpose – releasing heavy loads in a fast and safe way. It is a patented design with one-of-a-kind features and capabilities. Made from heat-treated aerospace- and military-grade stainless steel for superior strength, this hook can handle up to 77.11 tons (in its heavy-duty TR18 version) and allows for multi-directional, low friction, on-load and off-load releasing. Sea Catch has a simple spring-free construction based on the good old working principle of toggle linkage, which has been modified for the safe release of a line or object under load in a variety of industries – from commercial fishing & marine use to rescue operations to movie stunts.

The release lever securely holds the shackle locked in place and the safety hitch pin is inserted to prevent accidental release. To release the load, remove the safety pin and pull firmly on a release line. Sea Catch can accommodate common shackles (standard models) or lines, ropes, and cables (LM models). The units start life at the company founder’s McMillian Design studio in Gig Harbor, Washington while being manufactured in Auburn, Washington. First put to commercial use in 1994, Sea Catch has been safely securing and releasing loads in different industries worldwide for almost three decades, with some of the devices still utilized after 5,000 cycles.
