An electric relay is a device allowing you to control several circuits at once with the help of a relatively simple and safe low-voltage switch. These circuits can be located in different parts of the vessel, and some of them may require high current to operate. In order to function properly, a relay may have numerous terminals or work with other relays in more complex setups. Meanwhile, each of these parts contains moving electromagnetic contacts that can be normally open or normally closed, and reputable manufacturers apply expensive materials and durable coatings to make these contacts serve reliably for years to come.
Aside from their construction, relays differ by their nominal voltage and amperage.
