Navisafe Marine Navigation Lights

According to International Navigation Rules, all the vessels at anchor or underway, under power or under sail, have to display navigation lights at nighttime and in poor visibility conditions. For paddled vessels such as small boats, canoes, and kayaks, these lights can be substituted with a flashlight. In practice, however, its illumination can be insufficient or ineffective. Such a conclusion was drawn by the founder of the Norwegian company Navisafe when he and his family were sailing in a small boat after the sunset and scarcely avoided a collision with a larger boat that came without lights in the darkness.

Soon after that event, the idea of creating compact battery-powered navigation lights for kayaks and small boats appeared and was successfully realized by Navisafe. Today, this company is headquartered in Sweden and has numerous distributors all over the world including the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and many European countries. There are several types of Navisafe lights including the Navilight 360°, the Navisafe Tricolor, and several torches and headlights. All of them are fitted with bright and energy-efficient LEDs and available with various mounts and bases to reliably attach them to different board constructions or to a pole.

One of the most popular packs is the Navisafe Dinghy Complete that perfectly fits inflatable boats. Approved by USCG, this kit contains both the Navisafe Navilight 360° and Tricolor, a 4-piece pole, mounting bases, and a storage box. All the components are waterproof and durable enough; the fasteners are made of stainless steel. Another interesting solution is the Navilight Glowtube.
